Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Security Officer to protect hospitals, parking facilities, and employees across facilities in the Lehigh Valley region. You will patrol, respond to incidents, and assist in evacuations as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year of security or related experience, and the ability to operate access control and alarm systems. Pa license and healthcare security certifications are preferred. Evening shifts and onsite work are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Military experience, or graduation from a Law Enforcement academy.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
• Knowledge of LVHN Emergency codes and response protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot access control and alarm systems.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of security equipment.
• Driver’s License PA required on hire.
• BLS Basic Life Support and CHSO/CCCM training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Helps mitigate threats to the safety of staff, patients, visitors, and property.
• Intervenes with suspicious or abnormal behavior and detains persons when needed.
• Patrols hospital, satellite clinic, parking lots, and grounds and reports hazards.
• Maintains and operates vehicles and shuttles safely and ensures cleanliness.
• Conducts initial inquiries for administrative and potential criminal complaints and reports findings.
• Responds to coded alarms and provides security escorts as required.
• Assists with evacuations in emergencies requiring strength and flexibility.
• Maintains high visibility to deter undesired activity and aid people in need.
