Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors across hospitals and facilities. You will patrol buildings and grounds, respond as a first responder to emergencies, and deter threats to safety.

Requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, 1 year of security-related experience, and certifications such as BLS, CHSO, and BCCM with proper license use.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Military experience or Law Enforcement academy graduation.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
• Knowledge of LVHN Emergency codes and response protocols.

Responsibilities

• Protects and provides a safe environment for staff, patients, visitors, and property.
• Intervenes when suspicious behavior is observed and detains individuals when needed.
• Conducts internal and external patrols of the hospital and parking areas.
• Responds to coded alarms and conducts security escorts during emergencies.
• Assists with evacuations requiring strength and stamina.
• Maintains visibility to deter undesired activity and provide assistance.
