Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Gilbertsville is seeking a security professional for a night shift to safeguard staff, patients, visitors and property. You will respond to alarms, patrol the hospital grounds and assist with evacuations during emergencies.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of related experience. Knowledge of LVHN emergency codes and access control systems is essential. A PA driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections or Military experience, or graduation from a Law Enforcement academy.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
• Knowledge of LVHN Emergency codes and response protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot access control and alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Helps mitigate threats to the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors, and property.
• Intervenes when suspicious or abnormal behavior is observed, stops, questions, and detains persons when reasonable suspicion exists.
• Conducts patrols of the hospital, satellite clinics, parking lots and grounds and reports safety hazards.
• Maintains and operates vehicles and shuttles in a safe manner.
• Addresses coded alarms and provides security escorts as needed.
• Assists with evacuations in emergencies requiring strength and flexibility.
• Maintains visibility to deter undesired activity and assist anyone in need.
