Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Security Officer for day shifts at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Bethlehem. This per diem role protects patients, staff, visitors and property, conducts patrols, and serves as first responder to emergencies.

Strong judgment and a valid PA driver’s license are required, with LVHN codes knowledge and security experience preferred. Certifications such as BLS and CHSO should be obtained within 90 days of hire; a related associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections, or Military experience.
• PA Driver's License required.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
• Familiarity with LVHN emergency codes and response protocols.
• Certifications such as BLS, CHSO within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Protects patients, staff, visitors and property; patrols buildings, grounds and sites.
• Intervenes when suspicious behavior is observed and detains when necessary.
• Reports security and safety hazards; conducts internal and external patrols.
• Operates and maintains security vehicles and shuttles safely.
• Responds to coded alarms and provides security escorts as needed.
• Assists with evacuations in emergencies requiring strength and coordination.
