Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a Security Officer for night shifts at Lehigh Valley Hospital campuses in Bethlehem. This role protects patients, staff, and visitors while helping control access to facilities.

Responsibilities include patrolling hospital grounds, responding to alarms, ensuring safety, and assisting in evacuations. A High School diploma and security experience are required; BLS and healthcare security credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year in security, law enforcement, corrections or military.
• Basic life support certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Responds to coded alarms and provides security escorts when requested.

Assists in controlling access to the facility by periodically patrolling buildings, grounds, and work sites. Acts as a first responder to all emergency incidents, as needed.Job DutiesHelps mitigate threats to the safety and security of all staff, patients, visitors, and their property within the facility, as well as LVHN property.Intervenes when suspicious or abnormal behavior is observed or reported, and stops, questions, and detains persons when reasonable suspicion exists.Conducts both internal and external patrols of the hospital, satellite clinic, parking lots and grounds, and reports on security and safety hazards.Maintains and operates vehicles and shuttles in a safe manner.
