Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Schuylkill County is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect hospital staff, patients and visitors across facilities and parking areas.

You will patrol buildings and grounds, respond to alarms, assist with evacuations, and enforce access control and safety protocols with professionalism and composure. The role supports LVHN’s commitment to a safe, compassionate patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; 1 year security, law enforcement, corrections, or military experience.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
• Knowledge of LVHN emergency codes and response protocols.
• Ability to troubleshoot access control and alarm systems; proper use of security equipment.

Responsibilities

• Patrol facilities and protect staff, patients, visitors, and LVHN property.
• Intervene on suspicious or abnormal behavior; detain people when needed.
• Conduct internal and external patrols of the hospital, clinics, parking, and grounds.
• Respond to alarms and assist with evacuations during emergencies.
• Maintain high visibility as a deterrent and assist anyone in need.
