Job summary

Tampa General Hospital seeks a Referral Specialist to provide excellent customer service to physicians and patients referred for appointments or services. You will assist with scheduling provider-referred visits within the health system and coordinate connections to outside groups as needed.

Responsibilities include processing referrals, obtaining authorizations, registering patients, scheduling, check-in/out in clinics, and communicating with providers and patients to keep the process running

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of customer service experience in healthcare.

• Identify and route patient appointment information to correct recipient.
• Create, modify, and cancel appointments.
• Obtain authorizations and/or referrals as required.
• Correspond with providers and patients.
