Job summary

Clinica Sierra Vista is hiring a Temporary Referral Clerk I in Bakersfield, CA. Under supervision, you will coordinate and schedule specialty referrals and authorizations for patients, using EPIC EMR and the referral tracking system.

The role supports the health home by coordinating with clinicians, HIM staff, and outside providers to ensure timely services. Candidates with a High School diploma and medical office experience are preferred, bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Two to three years of medical back office or administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, process, and schedule specialty referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Enter all referral requests in the Referral Tracking System or EMR daily.
• Verify insurance information for referrals and assist patients with transportation as needed.
• Communicate with providers, staff, and patients to ensure timely referrals and authorizations.
