Rancho Health is seeking a Referral Coordinator to manage patient referrals and authorizations across the care team. You will verify insurance eligibility, coordinate with insurers, and ensure accurate EMR data transfer while maintaining patient confidentiality.

The role involves communicating with patients, providers, and staff to support timely referrals. The position requires a solid front-office background, familiarity with ICD-10/CPT coding, and strong organizational skills in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Completion of a medical front office program or related on-the-job training.
• Experience with ICD-10 & CPT coding.
• Experience processing specialty referrals.

Responsibilities

• Verify patients' insurance eligibility.
• Contact insurance companies.
• Transfer/upload information from EMR orders to other applications.
• Call and obtain notes from specialists, labs, or imaging.
• Attach relevant information to the authorization.
• Schedule patient appointments with outside providers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve denied referrals.
