Sante Health System in Fresno, CA is seeking a full-time Referral Coordinator to coordinate and schedule appointments with specialists at the UroGynecology Specialty Center Recreation Office. The role requires handling referrals, authorizations, and patient communications to ensure timely care.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1 year of medical office experience, healthcare terminology knowledge, and strong computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum one year of work experience, preferably in a medical office.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance products is desirable.
• Word processing and computer experience is required.

Responsabilités

• Schedule patient appointments with specialists or fax referral information to the specialist's office.
• Arrange for all appropriate information to be sent to the specialist prior to the appointment date.
• Contact patient with appointment time and location.
• Contact patients' insurance company to obtain benefit information and any required authorizations.
• Answer all telephone calls regarding referral follow ups in a timely manner.
• Maintain up-to-date specialist list for HMO patients.
• Record referral information in the patient’s chart under insurance information.
• Provide general information on insurance policies and procedures.
• Enter patient, insurance, specialist, specialty, visits and consult letters into the computer.
• Stay current on insurance benefit changes.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
• Perform any other job-related duties as requested.
