Job summary

Axis Community Health in Pleasanton, CA seeks a Referral Coordinator to process and coordinate specialty referrals, working with providers, patients and families. You’ll ensure timely submission of notes, respond to calls, coordinate authorizations, and document details in the EHR while safeguarding PHI.

Requirements include a high school diploma, at least 1 year in medical office duties, excellent telephone etiquette, and basic medical terminology knowledge; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one year experience with medical office duties.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Excellent telephone etiquette.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and referral processes.
• Knowledge of EHR is a plus.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process and coordinate specialty referrals in a timely manner.
• Work with referring providers, specialists, patients, and families.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle calls/voicemails.
• Coordinate referral authorizations and follow up with offices.
• Document referral information in the EHR and protect PHI.
