Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience; multi-state experience strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems; Paycom experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, local payroll tax laws and FLSA requirements.
• Healthcare or staffing industry payroll experience is a plus.
• High accuracy and ability to meet deadlines; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly, off-cycle, and ad hoc payroll in Paycom for W-2 employees and 1099 contractors.
• Collect, audit, and reconcile timekeeping data, including shift differentials and overtime.
• Enter and verify new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and deductions in Paycom.
• Review pre-processing payroll registers to identify and correct errors before submission.
• Respond to payroll inquiries professionally and escalate complex issues to the Payroll Manager.
• Assist in year-end processes, including W-2 and 1099 preparation and distribution.
• Maintain confidential payroll records in compliance with regulations.
• Support multi-state payroll tax compliance and state registrations.
• Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate employee records in Paycom.
• Develop Paycom training materials and provide first-level system support.
• Identify process improvements and propose solutions to the Payroll Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
