Job summary

Ohio Living Mount Pleasant seeks an experienced cook to prepare meals in accordance with menus and dietary requirements. You will support daily service, maintain sanitation, and assist with catering and staff development in a patient- and resident-focused environment.

The role emphasizes quality, consistency, and teamwork within the dietary services department, with weekend/evening shifts as scheduled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years quantity and/or restaurant-style cooking experience required.
• Knowledge of cooking methods and food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, and presentation required.
• Experience in food cost and operational control preferred.
• Proficiency with POS and diet management software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves all products and meals so they are palatable and appetizing by following planned menus and recipes.
• Ensures timely and efficient meal service by adhering to quality standards and policies.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food at line stations.
• Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portions.
• Reviews production for raw quantities to estimate portions required.
• Communicates inventory of leftovers to manager for weekly menu integration.
• Assists in maintaining inventory by requisitioning food and supplies and keeping areas clean.
• Maintains department work areas and equipment in a sanitary manner; follows sanitation schedules.
• Follows daily prep list and opening/closing checklists for assigned duties.
• Assists with catering needs and special events.
• Supports leadership in developing cooking staff through training and coaching.
