Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH seeks an HVAC Technician for the Evening Shift. You will perform installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration, heating, ventilation, and related systems across on-site and off-site locations in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.

You will inspect, test, and adjust equipment, read blueprints, and participate in preventive maintenance, while supporting hospital operations and patient care with reliable climate control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred.
• Universal Refrigeration Certification.
• Three years of experience in installation and repair of HVAC equipment.
• Knowledge of chemical water treatment and analysis.
• Knowledge of electrical controls and electrical theory relating to HVAC.
• Knowledge of temperature controls systems.
• Knowledge of indoor air quality standards.
• Experience reading blueprints and knowledge of codes.
• Valid Ohio drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and determines repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns on HVAC systems at on and off-site locations.
• Installs, maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, and overhauls HVAC equipment and replaces parts as necessary; tests operation.
• Reads blueprints and installs equipment per blueprints; updates as-built drawings.
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC systems at on and off-site locations.
• Operates and adjusts HVAC systems to meet specified temperatures and humidity.
• Inspects and maintains hospital equipment systems including chillers, cooling towers and air handlers.
• Performs tests and chemically treats boiler water and cooling tower water.
• Performs snow removal duties including operation of 4-wheel drive vehicles.
