Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician for the evening shift. You will perform installation, preventive maintenance and repair on refrigeration equipment, boilers and environmental control systems at hospital locations and other sites, ensuring adherence to federal, state and local guidelines.

You will read blueprints, test equipment, apply chemical treatments to boiler and cooling tower water, and participate in snow removal duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in installation and repair of HVAC equipment.
• Knowledge of chemical water treatment, testing and analysis.
• Knowledge of electrical controls and HVAC electrical theory.
• Understanding of temperature control systems.
• Familiarity with indoor air quality standards and codes.
• Experience reading blueprints and reflecting as-built conditions.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose repair/maintenance needs to prevent breakdowns across HVAC systems at hospital and off-site locations.
• Install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and overhaul HVAC equipment and replace parts as necessary; test operation.
• Read blueprints; install equipment per specs and update blueprints for as-built conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems at various sites.
• Operate and adjust HVAC systems to maintain required temperatures and humidity.
• Inspect and maintain hospital equipment like chillers, cooling towers, and air handlers.
• Carry out boiler water treatment in closed-loop systems; conduct tests.
• Assist in training of new associates.
