Job summary

Texas A&M University Health Science Center’s Department of Primary Care & Rural Medicine in Bryan seeks a Medical Receptionist I to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors in the outpatient clinic. You will help create a welcoming, efficient environment by handling front desk tasks and basic data entry in the electronic system.

The position is full-time, 8 am to 5 pm, Monday–Friday with occasional extended hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in medical office, hospital, or similar setting required.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient phone calls and schedule appointments; route to staff; enter notes.
• Check-in patients, collect co-pays, verify insurance, register for patient portal.
• Billing support: assist with hospital billing processes and denials.
