Job summary

Mercyhealth seeks a friendly receptionist to support patient access across Epic scheduling and registration workflows. You will greet visitors, check in patients, verify demographics and insurance, collect payments, and post transactions in Epic.

Role requires handling MyChart communications, ensuring privacy, and maintaining a smooth patient flow across Mercyhealth locations. Prior medical reception experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous medical reception experience required.
• Internal Receptionist 2 candidates must have at least two years’ experience in a Receptionist 1 position with Mercyhealth or be cross trained in 3 or more clinic departments/locations.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls and forwards to appropriate personnel.
• Responsible for EMR-Epic registration check-in processes.
• Loads, verifies and updates patient demographics; verifies insurance coverage.
• Collects co-payments and self-pay obligations; posts in Epic.
• Gives patients MyChart signup/activation and replies to MyChart messages.
• Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality per Mercyhealth policies.
