Job summary

Roper St. Francis Healthcare seeks a Patient Services Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and the community. You will register patients, verify demographics, obtain insurance cards, and identify patients.

You will schedule appointments, transcribe orders, and explain financial options to patients while maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering calls, routing inquiries, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required for patient interactions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9 coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary point of contact between patients and physician practices.
• Provides customer service by greeting patients and the community.
• Answers calls, routes them, and schedules patients in the system.
• Processes patients at time of appointment and corrects registration errors as needed.
• Records time indicators for lobby wait times and handles patient payments.
