Job summary

Mission Park Healthcare Center in Santa Barbara is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to implement required maintenance procedures efficiently, meeting regulatory standards while ensuring a safe environment for residents. You are entrusted with duties by the supervisor.

Responsibilities include repairing walls, doors, ceilings, lighting, coordinating with nursing staff, performing routine and emergency maintenance, and supporting the maintenance department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or GED preferred.
• Maintenance apprenticeship desirable.
• Must be in good physical and mental health.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintains facility by repairing walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, windows, removing trash, etc.
• Moves furniture to complete assignments and coordinates daily maintenance with nursing services.
• Assist in terminal cleaning of resident rooms during transfers, discharges or death.
• Performs routine maintenance and repair on plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical tasks as directed.
• Completes maintenance request slips and relays information to supervisor.
• Performs routine maintenance on grounds, lighting, and exterior areas as directed.
• Assists in Preventative Maintenance Program to ensure equipment operates safely.
• May take on-call responsibilities including weekends and holidays.
• Performs unscheduled or emergency maintenance tasks as directed.
