Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center seeks a Supervisor - Building Services to lead and develop the building operations team on-site. This full-time role covers weekend shifts, with responsibility for safe practices, scheduling, and CMMS-driven work order management.

You will oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and related trades, ensuring patient and staff environments meet high standards. Strong communication and customer focus are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 7 years of related facilities operations experience.
• Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• MS Office proficiency and CMMS system experience.
• Ability to organize a work team and coordinate with multiple trades.

Responsibilities

• Supervise multi-skilled staff assigned to the buildings.
• Develop, implement and maintain safe working practices for staff.
• Ensure appropriate environmental conditions for patients, staff and visitors.
• Plan and maintain work schedules; review and close work orders in CMMS.
• Attend scheduling meetings; prepare status reports for management.
• Contribute to budget planning, variance reports, and procurement processes.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction through timely work order completion.
