Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering and Maintenance team. You will supervise daily activities, oversee facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and Building Management Systems, and coordinate capital projects with contractors and stakeholders.

The role requires extensive supervisory experience, knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards, and strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License.
• 5–10 years with supervisory responsibilities.
• 5+ years of occupational-specific experience.
• Knowledge of city, state, and federal building and safety codes.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety Standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and building plans.
• Leadership, direction, and supervision capabilities.
• Strong business acumen and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Understanding of CMMS, preventive maintenance, and asset management.
• Ability to maintain healthcare facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Engineering and Maintenance staff to ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, and inspection of facility infrastructure and systems.
• Direct preventive maintenance programs and monitor performance.
• Manage contractors, construction activities, and capital projects.
• Support emergency preparedness and after-hours responses as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and safety regulations.
• Assist budgeting, procurement, and operational planning.
• Promote safety, accountability, quality, and patient-focused service.
