Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Data Analyst-Health, Principal to provide consultative data analysis and strategic insights for provider network performance. You will collaborate with multiple business units, model complex data in Excel, and present actionable recommendations to senior leaders.

The role emphasizes leadership-ready analysis, problem-solving, and the ability to influence without direct reporting lines, with a hybrid in-office expectation two days per week.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree. A Master's degree (MPH, MBA, MS, MA) is preferred
• Requires 10 years of experience in Health Care (managed care, academic, or government payer)
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e. ability to model, use formulas, etc.) is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Access (i.e. link tables, run queries, etc.), Tableau, and SAS is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation skills. Including previous experience in presenting to leaders
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams to come up with the best solution and move people and organizations to act
• Ability to influence leaders and stakeholders with no direct reporting relationship
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and with little direction
• Broad knowledge of project management is preferred

Education
