Job summary

Blue Shield of California seeks a Principal Data Analyst in Health to deliver complex analyses, insights, and recommendations for provider network performance and related initiatives. The role reports to the Senior Director, Provider Services-Network and partners with multiple business units as a thought partner and expert.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher with 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree; a Master's degree (MPH, MBA, MS, MA) is preferred.
• Requires 10 years of experience in Health Care (managed care, academic, or government payer).
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e. ability to model, use formulas, etc.) is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Access (i.e. link tables, run queries, etc.), Tableau, and SAS is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation skills; including experience presenting to leaders.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams to come up with the best solution and move people and organizations to act.
• Ability to influence leaders and stakeholders with no direct reporting relationship.
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and with little direction.
• Broad knowledge of project management is preferred.
