Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Data Analyst-Health, Principal to join the Network Performance Analysis and Contracts team. You will provide consultative services and complex analysis for strategic initiatives and collaborate with multiple business units as a thought partner.

The role emphasizes leadership, data-driven insights, and cross-functional collaboration. The hybrid workplace requires in-office presence two days per week, with flexibility based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree. A Master's degree (MPH, MBA, MS, MA) is preferred
• Requires 10 years of experience in Health Care (managed care, academic, or government payer)
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e. ability to model, use formulas, etc.) is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Access (i.e. link tables, run queries, etc.), Tableau, and SAS is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and presentation skills. Including previous experience in presenting to leaders
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams to come up with the best solution and move people and organizations to act
• Ability to influence leaders and stakeholders with no direct reporting relationship
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and with little direction
• Broad knowledge of project management is preferred
