Job summary

CLA is seeking a Controller with Healthcare Industry experience for our Client Accounting & Advisory Services practice, based in Appleton, WI or MN offices. You will lead GAAP accounting, internal controls, budgeting, and financial planning for healthcare clients, while coordinating with leadership and boards.

The role requires 7 years of controller-level experience, a Bachelor's degree, and strongly preferred CPA; experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• 7 years relevant work experience as a Controller or equivalent is required.
• Healthcare industry experience is highly preferred.
• Public accounting experience is preferred but not required.
• Aptitude for developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of accounting software and systems.
• Experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop GAAP knowledge and deep understanding of financial and operational aspects of the technology industry.
• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
• Coordinate and direct financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investment activities for all or part of an organization.
• Prepare financial information.
• Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make recommendations.
• Monitor ratio and KPI performance.
• Supervise accounting and finance staff and implement actions as needed.
• Advise management on short- and long-term financial objectives and actions.
• Regularly communicate with boards, bankers, investors, and stakeholders.
