Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Centralized Scheduler to coordinate surgeries, appointments and procedures per physician and patient requests. This role includes transcribing and scanning orders into the EMR, maintaining scheduling queues, and ensuring insurance verification and medical necessity checks are completed.

On-site training is required for six months, after which there is potential for remote work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of experience in a medical environment with scheduling duties preferred.
• Professional and courteous manner when dealing with customers.
• Appropriate and timely independent judgement and computer experience required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries, appointments and procedures at the request of physicians and customers.
• Transcribe and scan orders and H&Ps into the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain scheduling work queues and assist with scheduling needs for staff and physicians.
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility; perform medical necessity checks as needed.
