Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
• Demonstrates basic keyboarding speed (≈40 wpm).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written.
• Excellent customer service skills; professional demeanor in all interactions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates switchboard, answering service, TTY, and all other communication equipment.
• Answers incoming calls by the third ring 90% of the time, directing calls promptly.
• Provides paging services within 30 seconds of request 90% of the time.
• Receives, documents, and dispatches messages to physicians and/or connects callers directly.
• Records messages and files as appropriate and communicates information per client instructions.
• Initiates actions when alarms are activated and updates on-call status as required.
• Performs clerical duties and maintains professional appearance and attendance.
