Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health’s Second Street Cafe seeks an experienced dining supervisor to lead daily operations, ensure high service standards, and manage customer relations with a focus on quality and efficiency.

You will oversee staff development, monitor menu and service improvements, and collaborate with other hospital operations to maintain profitability while delivering patient and visitor dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in food management or GED/CDM credential.
• Proficiency in computer skills.
• 5 years practical food service experience from a hospital, retail sales or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage Second Street Cafe operations, including customer relations and staff supervision.
• Oversee staff development and implement menu/service improvements in collaboration with other managers.
• Monitor presentation, quality and service standards to ensure profitability.
• Lifting and standing requirements as part of cafe operations.

Skills

Proficiency in computer skills

Education

Associate degree in food management or equivalent

Bachelor's degree in food management or equivalent (preferred)

High School diploma / GED with CDM credential or equivalent

10 years practical food service experience
