Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Food and Patient Services Supervisor to oversee diet aides in the Pavilion and Women and Children's kitchens. You will delegate tasks, train staff, and ensure uniform and grooming standards while driving service improvements and patient satisfaction.

The role requires an Associate’s degree in food management or equivalent or GED with 10 years of supervisory hospital food service experience, plus Food Safety/ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in food management or equivalent.
• GED with 10 years supervisory experience in hospital or similar food service environment.
• Food Safety/Sanitation/ServSafe certification or Certified Food Safety Manager required.

Responsibilities

• Biweekly scheduling including vacation planning and holiday/personal day coverage.
• Train and assign duties; ensure cross-training and fair workload distribution.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards across kitchens.
• Report mechanical deficiencies; place work orders with Operations Manager.
• Ensure proper food presentation, portions, taste, and dietary compliance.
• Maintain safe temperatures for freezers/refrigerators/dish machines with Sous Chef.
• Lead daily staff meetings to communicate important operations details.
• Check patient trays for accuracy and diet compliance; ensure orders are fulfilled.
• Oversee tray line timing and ticket completion; ensure adherence to procedures.
