Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to supervise diet aides across our Pavilion and Women and Children's kitchens. You will delegate tasks, train staff, and ensure dietary compliance, presentation, and patient satisfaction.

You will maintain sanitation standards, coordinate schedules, and collaborate with the Sous Chef and Operations Manager to support high-quality patient meals and safe food handling.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in food management or GED with 10 years supervisory experience in hospital or similar food service environment
• Hospital or similar setting experience strongly preferred
• Food safety certifications (ServSafe or equivalent) preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise diet aides in assigned kitchens and delegate tasks
• Train and coach staff; ensure fair work distribution and cross-training
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards; monitor equipment and inventory
• Ensure correct meal portioning, presentation, and dietary compliance for patients
• Maintain staff scheduling, coverage, and shift start times; lead daily briefings

Education

Associate's degree in food management
