Job summary

Banner Health in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a full-time Access Control Clerk to provide welcoming and safe access to patients, visitors, and staff at multiple East Valley facilities. You will greet, screen, and direct people while coordinating with facility Security to manage access to secured areas.

You will handle answering questions, assist with badging, provide visitor passes, and support various front desk tasks as part of the security team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must have good interpersonal communication and display compassion in stressful situations.
• Preferred: additional related education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists visitors to the area. Provides them with general information regarding processes and policies, and directs them to appropriate resources, services, or areas.
• Maintains an orderly waiting area and provides a positive/satisfying/friendly experience. Reports maintenance issues as needed to facilitate visitor comfort and safety.
• Performs visitor authorization procedures, serves as a liaison between visitors and staff, relays visitor concerns to staff, and coordinates visitor support services such as validating parking, and taking and relaying messages, etc.
• May answer phones, transfer calls, take messages, and relay messages and information as needed.
• May perform these additional functions, depending on assigned area: assembles charts, files, sorts mail, maintains supplies inventory, or other appropriate duties as requested.
• Performs functions within established parameters. Customers include employees, families, and the community at large.
