Mayo Clinic is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to provide organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units. Responsibilities include monitoring supplies, answering call lights promptly, and assisting the care team with orders in the EHR.

Strong communication and problem-solving are essential in this role. Required: high school diploma or equivalent; HUC post-secondary program or certification preferred; knowledge of medical terminology; experience with EHR systems

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of HUC post-secondary program or HUC certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working experience in a medical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology; proficiency with EHR systems (EPIC preferred).

Responsibilities

• The Health Unit Coordinator provides organizational, receptionist, and clerical support to patient care units and the health care team.
• Monitor and order supplies, promptly answer patient call lights and elevate patient needs to nursing staff, and assist with managing orders in the EHR.
• Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and facility staff and supports continuous improvement activities.
