Job summary

Essentia Health Sandstone is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to plan, organize, and execute non-nursing functions on the assigned unit. You will support workflow, patient and family services, and staff through clerical tasks, supply requisition, and scheduling coordination.

Preferred candidates may have health unit coordinator, medical secretary, or medical receptionist experience. This role offers day/evening shifts in a 0.8 FTE structure with on-site duties at the Sandstone location.

Qualifications

• No educational requirement.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification or must obtain within 3 months of hire, and maintain thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions of assigned unit(s) to facilitate workflow and improve unit productivity.
• Performs clerical and reception duties; requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed; assist with scheduling.
• May observe telemetry monitor and notify patient’s caregiver of changes; other duties as assigned.
