Essentia Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator/Medical Secretary to support assigned unit(s). You will plan, organize, and implement non-nursing functions to improve workflow, unit productivity, and patient, family, visitor, and staff service.

Preferred candidates have hospital/clinic experience as health unit coordinator, medical secretary, or medical receptionist; no formal education required but related programs or experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in a hospital/clinic setting as health unit coordinator, medical secretary, or medical receptionist.
• Must be able to perform clerical and reception duties and support scheduling.
• No formal education required but preferred programs or equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement non-nursing functions to facilitate workflow and unit productivity.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Perform clerical and reception duties; requisition supplies, equipment, and services.
• Assist with scheduling; observe telemetry monitoring when indicated and notify caregiver of changes.
