Job summary

UnityPoint Health - Meriter is seeking a Health Unit Assistant to coordinate communications among nursing staff, physicians, patients and families, and to support unit operations. The role includes managing the desk area, monitoring bed status and facilitating Epic workflows for patient care orders.

The HUA works to ensure efficient daily operations and exceptional patient care, while collaborating across departments and supporting a culture of belonging and professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient keyboarding and strong communication skills.
• Ability to stay organized and coordinate multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication between nursing staff, physicians, patients and families.
• Coordinate desk operations and bed status information.
• Utilize Epic to facilitate patient care orders and act as Epic resource.
