Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Health Unit Assistant (HUA) to coordinate communication among nursing staff, physicians and patients. This 0.6 FTE, 24-hour-per-week role covers day shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation, using Epic to support patient care orders.

You will help maintain the unit desk, monitor bed status, and assist with downtime procedures while delivering reliable, confidential service to patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Keyboard skills.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication between nursing staff, physicians and families.
• Manage desk area and monitor bed status and downtime procedures.
• Use Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serve as an Epic resource.
