Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Madison, WI is seeking a Health Unit Assistant (HUA) to coordinate communication among nursing staff, physicians and patients. This 0.6 FTE, 24-hour-per-week role covers day shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation, using Epic to support patient care orders.

You will help maintain the unit desk, monitor bed status, and assist with downtime procedures while delivering reliable, confidential service to patients and families.

Qualifications

Job Description:

The Health Unit Assistant (HUA) coordinates communication between nursing staff, physicians, other departments, professional staff, patients and families relating to patient care. The HUC facilitates unit operations through knowing and communicating information, managing the desk area, facilitating the use of technology, monitoring and communicating bed status, and coordinating downtime procedures. The HUC utilizes Epic to facilitate patient care orders and serves as an Epic resource to physicians and the nursing staff.
