Qualifications

• Associate degree or vocational/technical training completed.
• Minimum of 1 year related experience in a healthcare setting.
• Health Unit Coordinator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical and receptionist duties.
• Notifies physicians of routine visits and coordinates appointments with resident representatives.
• Coordinates transportation for appointments.
• Completes referrals for appointments.
• Assure telephone is answered timely & professionally and directed to the appropriate person for follow up.
• Orders labs and x-rays and handles related documentation.
• Maintains and files resident charts and discharge/ admission documentation.
• Transcribes MD/NP orders into EHR and supports chart accuracy.
• Assists with Nursing Supply and inventory management.
• Monitors regulatory compliance for supplies and equipment used on the nursing unit.
