Southview Acres Health Care Center in Minnesota is seeking a Full-Time Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) to join our team and support efficient clinical operations. You will transcribe physician orders, coordinate visits and transportation, and maintain patient charts from admission to discharge, while serving as the unit receptionist and coordinating with staff.

Ideal candidates hold a Health Unit Coordinator or Medical Secretary certificate, a high school diploma or GED, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Certification as HUC or Medical Secretary certificate.
• Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• High School diploma or GED completion.
• Familiarity with PCC is preferred.
• Comfortable using Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe physician orders accurately from admission to discharge.
• Coordinate visits, appointments, and transportation for residents.
• Order labs and x-rays and manage referrals for appointments.
• Maintain resident charts and ensure forms are current.
• Participate in audits to uphold quality standards.
• Provide professional and timely telephone support.
• Serve as receptionist for the unit and facilitate communication with departments.
