Job summary

The Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) is seeking a Health Program Manager 2 to coordinate care management within the System of Care program under the Comprehensive Health Plan. Based in Phoenix, you will work with providers, caregivers, and state partners to improve health outcomes for children in care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, at least two years of health care advocacy experience, and the ability to navigate AHCCCS regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
• Two years of health care advocacy through the child and family team process.
• Ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
• A valid Arizona driver’s license is required.
• Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification (E-Verify) compliance.

Responsibilities

• Performs Care Management activities for children with complex physical and health care presentations including technical assistance and advocacy for systems of health care delivery.
• Serves as a field accountability partner to DCS CHP's managed care organization (MCO) partner to improve health care outcomes for children in care.
• Develops and maintains professional relationships to identify child-specific and system oriented enhancements to improve health care for children served by DCS.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of AHCCCS and DCS CHP policies and participates in data-driven performance management.
• Participates in activities beyond regular hours on a rotational basis; handle inquiries from members, providers, caregivers and DCS staff during off hours.
• Other duties as assigned related to the position.
