Description

Provides basic first aid and health care to all campers throughout the day. Duties include parent correspondence, first aid administration, and following state guidelines. Great opportunity for Nursing/Health Administration students.

Timeframe

June 24 – August 16, 2024 (no camp July 4)

8:00am-3:30pm

Essential Functions

  • Basic First Aid as needed and logged.
  • Administers camper medications as needed and logged.
  • Document all injuries and accidents.
  • Answers voicemails and emails in a timely manner.
  • Inventory and maintain office and first aid supplies.
  • Help parents as needed with the PlayerSpace app and any related troubleshooting.
  • Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
  • Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children, and staff. Models’ relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to help children grow in character, experiences, and insights.
  • Ability to always guard the health and well-being of campers.
  • Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
Qualifications

  • One year or more of college preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED for the Professional Rescuer certified or willing to do so.
  • Previous experience working with school age children.
