Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Data Analyst-Health, Principal to lead end-to-end analyses and consult with senior leaders across provider networks. You will synthesize complex data into actionable insights, partner with multiple business units, and influence strategic decisions in a hybrid in-office setting across California.

The role requires 10 years in health care analytics, strong Excel/Tableau/SAS skills, and exceptional communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree. A Master’s degree (MPH, MBA, MS, MA) is preferred.
• Requires 10 years of experience in Health Care (managed care, academic, or government payer).
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Access, Tableau, and SAS is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; experience presenting to leaders.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to influence leaders and stakeholders.
• Broad knowledge of project management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects end-to-end with clients and stakeholders to deliver outcomes.
• Gather data through stakeholder meetings.
• Provide consultative recommendations to leadership.
• Collaborate across business units to design and develop solutions.
• Support cross-functional groups to improve processes and data integrity.
• Synthesize complex information into clear takeaways for management.
• Present findings using Excel pivots, PowerPoint, Tableau, and reports.
• Develop actionable plans and drive implementation.
• Create training materials and mentor team members.
• Deliver intuitive deliverables for internal and external customers.
