Aultman Health System in Canton, OH seeks a Health Information Technician to support the Medical Records Department, ensuring accurate file coordination and compliance with federal, state, local requirements, and hospital policy.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient charts, processing ROI requests, transcription services, and notary duties, with strong attention to detail and excellent customer service. Requires knowledge of HIM systems and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a Health Information Management Department preferred.
• Certification (CPC, COC, CIC) preferred.
• Cerner HIM systems experience preferred (Cerner Profile, Report Request, Message Center, Content 360, HNAUser, Work Queue Manager).
• Knowledge of Dictation/Transcription, Release of Information and Coding.
• Understanding of information systems and their impact to customers.

Responsabilités

• Assist internal and external customers with exceptional customer service.
• Verify loose documentation is part of the medical record.
• Return documentation not belonging in the medical record to the author/department.
• File documents in the proper patient chart and location.
• Procurement of records/offsite storage and data entry for accurate filing.
• Purge and destroy records per schedule.
• Process fax requests for information.
• Provide notary services (rotation).
• Operate chart tracking: locate, file, retrieve, out-guide.
• Produce labels for permanent folders.
• Process transcription services STAT documentation.
• Prepare chart lists and retrieve charts for internal/external customers.
• Log ROI requests in MRO per HIPAA; handle STAT/denial/audit requests.
• Escalate issues to leadership when delays occur.
• Prep/Scan/Index: prepare docs to be scanned, scan into EMR, index to patient/account.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
