Job summary

Lewis County Hospital District No. 1 is seeking a Health Information Management Clerk to manage daily HIM operations, including scanning, examining, faxing, and processing patient records.

The role handles release of information requests, workers' compensation documentation, and supports staff with medical record inquiries while upholding strict confidentiality. Responsibilities include chart completion checks, PACS imaging tasks, and assisting Revenue Cycle as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; college health information courses encouraged.
• Medical Records or physician office clerical experience preferred.
• Proficient with office equipment and computers.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and direct to the HIM department as needed.
• Process all release of information requests per state, federal and hospital policy.
• Scan, assemble and file discharged charts and other documents; route incomplete records.
• Assist staff and physicians with questions about medical records; maintain confidentiality.
