Job summary

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT preferred or 3 yrs Long Term Care Medical Records experience required.
• Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have computer knowledge and experience.
• Must have medical terminology knowledge.
• Must have Anatomy & Physiology knowledge.
• Must be able to work proficiently alone.
• Must read, know, and follow personnel, department, and facility policies.
• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM coding upon admissions, readmissions and interim stays, timely in EHR.
• Serves as Department head and leads daily roundings and MOD duties.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethics in HIM operations and audits.
• Performs HIM chart audits and reports findings at QA meetings.
• Coordinates ARD and Release of Information processes with staff.
• Monitors EHR system updates, e-orders and UDAs for discharge planning.
