Job summary

Hospice & Community Care in Lancaster, PA, is seeking a Health Information Management (HIM) Manager to lead our Medical Records team. The role oversees all aspects of health information management, ensures accuracy of the medical record, and coordinates privacy, retention, and regulatory compliance.

You will partner with clinical and administrative staff, supervise staff and volunteers, and drive performance improvement while maintaining HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in healthcare required
• Proficient with Microsoft, Outlook, Teams and Google Systems

Responsibilities

• Lead HIM staff and liaison with departments to ensure medical record accuracy and compliance
• Maintain complete medical records and timely processing of health information
• Perform chart audits and follow up with department supervisors as needed
• Ensure requests for release of information comply with HIPAA and regulations
• Coordinate record retention and destruction schedules with internal/external vendors
• Update Medicare addendums and generate invoices for medical record copies
• Develop, maintain, and implement HIM policies, procedures, and processes
• Collaborate with Quality & Compliance to support audits and data reporting
• Oversee data collection and reporting related to medical records
