Job summary

Liberty Healthcare Management in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking an experienced Health Information Management Manager to lead the HIM department and ensure accurate coding, documentation, and compliance. You will oversee ICD-10-CM coding, maintain Medicare certifications, coordinate with providers and external agencies, and manage daily operations within the EHR system.

Full-time, day shift, on-site role with leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT certification preferred or 3+ years Long Term Care Medical Records experience required.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have computer knowledge and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Department Head for Health Information Management.
• Oversees ICD-10-CM coding for admissions, readmissions and interim stays.
• Maintains Medicare certifications and reports to HIM Director.
• Ensures accurate entry of codes into the facility’s EHR system.
• Maintains provider visits and documentation with external agencies as needed.
• Performs HIM audits and presents findings at QA meetings.
• Coordinates ARD processes with corporate management and audit staff.
• Educates providers on EHR functions and signing requirements.
• Performs routine checks of backups and disaster plan procedures.
