Kern Medical in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Health Information Services Coder I/II for a full-time role. You will code and abstract patient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT guidelines, ensuring accurate DRG assignments for proper reimbursement.

The position offers an annual compensation package with a 6% premium pay and a comprehensive benefits plan, plus opportunities to mentor junior coders and contribute to hospital reporting.

Formación

• One year of diagnostic and procedure coding experience in a hospital, health care facility, or physician's office.
• Completion of a medical coding program whereby the necessary skills were obtained to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• Three years of diagnostic and procedure coding experience in a hospital, health care facility or physician's office.

Responsabilidades

• Codes and abstracts routine to complex patient medical record information according to ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT guidelines.
• Assists with OSHPD reporting by determining DRG for proper reimbursement.
• Assists in compiling statistical data for hospital reporting.
• Assists in training less experienced coders.
• Reviews medical record documentation and verifies coding and DRG assignments.
