Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of a 12-month AHIMA approved coding certificate program.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Minimum two years of acute hospital coding experience.
• Credentialed as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain a productive pace.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code outpatient visits (ED, ambulatory surgery, clinics) using ICD-9 CM and CPT.
• Utilize the 3M encoder and SMS/Invision systems for coding and data entry.
• Prepare and compile daily, weekly and monthly production reports.
• Participate in departmental PI projects and related duties as assigned.
