Job summary

Neighborcare Health in Seattle, WA is seeking an Eligibility Specialist for the Columbia City location (1.0 FTE). You will enroll uninsured individuals, verify income and household size, and determine eligibility for financial assistance and sliding fee discounts.

This on-site role requires strong communication, computer proficiency, and HIPAA compliance. You will collaborate with clinical and billing teams to remove barriers to care and help patients access coverage.

Qualifications

• Interviews with patients to assess eligibility for insurance programs and the sliding fee discount program.
• Explain program rules in plain, supportive language.
• Gather, verify, and document eligibility information (residency, citizenship, household size, income).
• Support documentation collection and applications; resolve discrepancies.
• Determine initial and renewal eligibility for publicly sponsored programs per policy.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance programs and eligibility rules.
